Cape Hachiman

Bronze statue of Yōjuin, a concubine of the daimyo Toyotomi Hideyoshi(1536-1598).

Situated in the city of Katsuura on the Southeast of Chiba Prefecture, Cape Hachiman takes its name from a mythological god of archery and war.

During the Heian period (794-1185), it was a natural point of maritime defense.
